If your event does not bring in the $2000 sponsorship amount needed to pay for the saddles, champion buckles will be awarded in place of the saddle and $20 will be added onto your entry fee at the finals to pay for the cost of the buckles. Contact your event director today to help with sponsorships.
The 2011 MRA FINALS are quickly approaching. As you know several changes have taken place this year. Our Finals our taking place at the beautiful Red Horse Ranch in Fergus Falls, MN on March 23rd and March 24th, 2012. The MRA takes the top 15 contestants in the point standings to the finals.
To be eligible for the finals you must have competed in 3 MRA First Sanctioned Rodeos. There is one exception to this rule: If the event does not have 15 contestants attending the finals, the MRA Board has decided to invite cardholders that may or may not be in the standings as long as they have competed in ONE MRA rodeo. Invites will be on a first come first serve basis with priority going to members who are in the point standings. These contestants will be eligible for all money won at the finals, however will not be eligible for any year-end or average awards. If you have NOT attended 3 first sanctioned rodeos and/or are not in the point standings you are encouraged to send in your pre-entry (You will receive a full refund if your event is full for the finals.)
To accommodate time constraints during our performance there will be a slack each day. On Friday the slack will be run FOLLOWING the performance. The top 8 in the point standings will be in the performance/ the remainder of contestants (8th place through 15th in standings) will run in Slack after performance. Friday Order of Contestants will be ran 1st place to 15th in standings. On Saturday the slack performance with be during the afternoon BEFORE the Saturday Performance-we will run the top 4 in standings and the top 4 in the average in the performance. If there is overlap in these criteria, then next performance position would go to next person in the standings. Rest of contestants to compete in slack. Saturday order of contestants will be 15th to 1st in the standings.
Pre-entry forms must be paid in full and postmarked by January 30th or you will not be eligible to compete. No late Entries or late payments accepted no exceptions. There will be NO call in this year. Friday’s draw will be posted on the website. I encourage all members who wish to compete to enter. (Refunds will be in full if you do not get entered in the top 15.) Applications are downloadable online and will also be mailed to the top 20 in the standings.
