June Meeting Highlights

  • Queen

    • New Queen Applications are live on the website.

  • Awards/Fundraising

    • Please use approved MRA Sponsorship forms that are available on the website when obtaining sponsors.

    • All sponsorships need to be turned in and awards need to be finalized with Kendra ASAP.

  • Rules and Bylaws

    • Effective IMMEDIATELY -

      • c) If the calf is dragged over 6 feet and less than 10 feet, the contestant will pay a fine of $25. If the calf is dragged more than 10 feet, the contestant will be disqualified.

        • Changed to: c) If the calf is dragged over 6 feet and less than 10 feet, the contestant will pay a fine of $25. If the calf is dragged more than 10 feet, the contestant will be disqualified will result in a $100.00 fine per infraction.

      • Rodeo secretaries will have access to the MRA membership list via the MRA website. Contestants not on the list may be asked to provide proof of purchase of membership if membership was purchased day of the event. If the contestant does not have a valid membership card an MRA permit will be purchased.

        • Change to: Rodeo secretaries will have access to the MRA membership list via the MRA website. If membership is purchased within 24 hours of the start of the performance an MRA permit must still be purchased for any rodeos within that 24 hours.

          • Permit will apply only to the rodeos within those 24 hours and points will count.

    • Discussion was held on entry process - tabled for more information to be gathered.

    • Contract Personnel Memberships

      • Motion was made to continue with the current rule that contract personnel must purchase a membership to work MRA rodeos. This was seconded and motion was passed.

  • New Business

    • Discussion was held on how points from double entries will be taken. Motion was made to leave double entry rodeos as is for the 2023 season (fastest/best run) and to revisit at the general membership meeting at finals. This was seconded and motion was passed.

    • Writing checks at rodeos will NOT be allowed, entries are cash only.
